US comedian and actor Patton Oswalt (who may be recognised by some sci-fi fans from his recent appearance in Dollhouse as client Joel Mynor) has been cast as Caprican comedian Baxter Sarno in the Battlestar Galactica prequel, coming to Syfy in January 2010.

His character, Sarno, is a popular talkshow host who invites Daniel Greystone (the inventor of the Cylons) and his wife Amanda onto the show.
Sounds like an interesting idea, but I’d be curious to see how a comedy talk show host fits in as a recurring character; I’d guess there’ll be a little more to him than that.
