Yikes. That’s a headline I never thought I’d type.

Family Guy has a history of offending just about everyone, but has always had a liberal leaning, which creator Seth McFarlane attributes simply to the fact that the writers are liberal. In quite an odd turn, however, they’ve decided to give the right wing a voice (literally) in one particular episode.

The ep in question will star Brian, the Griffin family dog and committed liberal, who finds he has nothing left to complain about now that Obama is in the White House, and decides to become a Republican instead (hence Rush and Limbaugh’s appearances.)

I can see the comedy in the concept, but I’m still not overly keen on Rush and Limbaugh being handed a cheque to spout their kind of crap. Part of me hopes that the episode will try and show them up for what they are, but surely they’re too savvy to appear in anything that will do too much damage to them.

The Dark Side is strong in this one.

The whole thing just feels very… odd. I’m still wondering if Rove is aware that American Dad, another Seth McFarlane show, has already jabbed at him by portraying the former White House advisor as Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars.

Now we just have to wait for a very special episode of Scrubs, where Glenn Beck shows up to debate healthcare with Dr. Cox. Eep.
