There are faint murmurings that Red Dwarf could indeed be returning for a tenth series to be aired on Dave, the channel which brought us the fairly poor mini-series Back To Earth earlier this year. Whilst nothing has yet been confirmed, fans were excited to read this on the Twitter feed of Robert Llewellyn, who plays [...] Amy Sherman-Palladino, who created, wrote and executive produced the seven-season mother-daughter network show Gilmore Girls is taking her first steps into cable with a new project for HBO. The as-yet-untitled dramedy will be written by Sherman-Palladino and focus on three adult sisters, all writers, living in the same apartment block with their domineering mother who lavishes [...] Chris Lilley, who created Australian comedy series Summer Heights High, has struck a deal with HBO for the US cable channel to co-produce his new series Angry Boys. As with Summer Heights High, Lilley will play numerous characters, with the focus of Angry Boys apparently “exploring male life in the 21st century”. For anyone who hasn’t [...] It was reported earlier this week that ABC, NBC and CBS were battling over the rights to JJ Abrams new TV drama, a series about a married couple in the world of espionage. It seems that the negotiations have already wrapped up, with NBC emerging the victor. The series is being co-produced by Warner Bros. and [...] Seth Green, Matthew Senreich and Tom Root are the guys behind Adult Swim’s stop-motion animated series Robot Chicken and Titan Maximum, and their hard work has seemingly just given them a root into primetime. Fox have ordered a presentation and a script for an animated project from the trio which would have the same sensibilities as [...] The 2005 novella from Stephen King, “The Colorado Kid”, is being adapted for television by the team behind “The Dead Zone”. Entitled “Haven” the series “centers on a spooky town in Maine where cursed folk live normal lives in exile. When those curses start returning, FBI agent Audrey Parker is brought in to keep those supernatural [...] Former pop star Piper, best known for perplexing her naysaying critics with a much-loved turn as Rose in Doctor Who, has been cast in a new BBC drama based on Kay Mellor’s play “A Passionate Woman”. The story is that of a housewife in 1950’s Leeds who falls in love, and has an affair with, a [...] Writer/producer/director JJ Abrams (Alias, Lost, Fringe, Star Trek) is taking on an executive producer role for a new half-hour comedy in development for Fox. Details are scarce at the moment but what does seem to be confirmed is that Abrams will be working with Mike Markowitz on the as yet untitled “comedic medical show”. The Hollywood Reporter has news that the duo will serve as executive producers on the series for Showtime described as “an ensemble drama chronicling Alphabet City’s gritty and tumultuous past before it became the gentrified East Village.
